Guaranteeing access to safe water

In collaboration with the SHARE project, our Colombia Collaboratory team have distributed 1,000 water purification filters throughout rural areas in Popayán, Totoró, Cajibio, and Silvia in the Department of Cauca.

Co-financed by the Colombian Government, the innovative filters have been given to schools, community centres, and family homes, guaranteeing access to safe and quality water to thousands of people.

Regular monitoring is being carried out to ensure the efficacy of the filters, and the response from recipients has been overwhelmingly positive.

In addition to this project, the team are planning to set up 20 agroecological pilots focused on food sovereignty amongst the communities in four municipalities.
